National Adoption Day, November 21st, 2025, was the day that my brother and sister-in-law adopted Allison, officially making me an Uncle!
Following a quick early afternoon at the courthouse making everything official, I was eager to take the new family’s photos. And of course the Adoption Photos were shot on 35mm film. I opted to use a film that I’ve been loving using and pushing 1 stop this fall — Kentmere 200. Shooting at 400 ISO adds some extra contrast and allows for it to be more versatile depending on the weather. Living in Iowa, expect anything during the month of November. A week after these photos were taken we got 15 inches of snow!
The newly adopted girl did so good during the shoot, smiling the entire time, making my job easy. Each image shot, feels like a time capsule leading to a supercut of how that day felt.
